Zelenskyy Holds High-Level Discussions with Southeast Europe Leaders
Zelenskyy detailed his conversation with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, highlighting their focus on strengthening bilateral relations, securing the Black Sea region, and boosting energy cooperation.
“We have fulfilled the necessary conditions and expect the opening of the negotiating clusters in the near future,” he stated, expressing gratitude to Bulgaria for its “real support” through 11 defense aid packages.
In a historic first, Zelenskyy participated in a trilateral meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Romanian President Nicusor Dan. The leaders emphasized united efforts to combat Russian hybrid warfare tactics, cyberattacks, and military aggression.
“Together with Romania, we will certainly help Moldova in resisting Russia’s destructive influence,” Zelenskyy affirmed.
The discussions also covered critical topics such as energy partnerships, military collaboration, and infrastructure and mobility enhancements. Sanctions and their impact on the peace process were addressed as separate issues.
Zelenskyy also welcomed Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on his inaugural visit to Ukraine, calling the occasion “truly important.” Their dialogue explored Serbia’s EU integration efforts, bilateral cooperation, and its proposal to support the rebuilding of Ukrainian communities devastated by conflict.
“We value Serbia’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Zelenskyy concluded.
