Data Machines appoints Rich Tempalski as VP of Growth and Strategy, expanding defense, intelligence, modeling, simulation, and mission tech growth.

RESTON, VA, UNITED STATES, June 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Data Machines Appoints Richard Tempalski as Vice President, Growth and Strategy

Former Department of the Air Force Chief Modeling and Simulation Officer joins Data Machines to accelerate growth across defense, intelligence, modeling, simulation, data, and mission technology markets.

Data Machines today announced that Richard “Rich” Tempalski has joined the company as Vice President of Growth and Strategy. In this role, Tempalski will help shape and accelerate Data Machines’ growth strategy across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and federal mission technology markets.

Tempalski brings deep experience at the intersection of defense innovation, modeling and simulation, enterprise technology strategy, and mission execution. Prior to joining Data Machines, he served as Chief Modeling and Simulation Officer for the Department of the Air Force as a designated Highly Qualified Expert. In that role, he led the Chief Modeling and Simulation Office and helped establish the Air Force’s enterprise approach to modeling, simulation, analytics, digital training, and decision-support capabilities.

His appointment marks a significant step in Data Machines’ continued commitment to disciplined growth, mission impact, and technical excellence across the DoD and IC. As Vice President of Growth and Strategy, Tempalski will work across the company’s Mission Areas to strengthen customer alignment, shape strategic pursuits, deepen partner relationships, and expand Data Machines’ ability to deliver advanced technical capabilities in support of national security missions.

“Rich brings a rare combination of mission understanding, enterprise leadership, technical judgment, and strategic focus,” said Matt Quinn, CEO of Data Machines. “He has operated at the senior levels of the Department of the Air Force, helped shape a critical enterprise capability from the ground up, and understands how modeling, simulation, data, and advanced analytics can change the way government organizations plan, train, decide, and operate. His decision to join Data Machines is a strong signal of where we are headed as a company and of our continued commitment to growth in support of DoD and IC missions.”

As the first Department of the Air Force Chief Modeling and Simulation Officer, Tempalski played a central role in advancing the Air Force’s modeling and simulation enterprise. His work connected stakeholders across government, industry, academia, and allied communities to improve policy, workforce development, technical architecture, and investment alignment for modeling and simulation capabilities.

“Data Machines is the kind of company I wanted to join because it is technically serious, mission-focused, and built around people who understand the importance of delivery,” said Tempalski. “The company has strong technical foundations, a clear commitment to national security customers, and a culture that values accountability, innovation, and relationships. I am excited to help Data Machines grow in a way that strengthens its impact for the missions it supports.”

Data Machines will leverage Tempalski’s experience to expand its work in mission systems, modeling and simulation, data platforms, AI-enabled analytics, geospatial technologies, and cloud-enabled mission environments. His leadership will support the company’s long-term strategy to help federal customers move from data and technical complexity to operational clarity, decision advantage, and measurable mission outcomes.
