Prime Minister Janša at an event hosted by Eltim and IMP Armature

SLOVENIA, October 3 - A central part of his address focused on the Development of Slovenia Act, which he presented as an intervention measure to support the economy and accelerate development. He stressed that, amid high energy costs and a shortage of skilled workers, companies need conditions that allow them to remain competitive, invest and create jobs.

Among the key measures, the Prime Minister highlighted the temporary reduction of VAT on energy products to 9.5%. According to him, the measure would provide particular relief to energy-intensive companies and help them maintain their competitiveness at a time of instability in global markets.

An important part of the Act also addresses the shortage of highly skilled staff. It provides for the introduction of a development cap, intended to make it easier for companies to attract and retain experts, engineers, developers and experienced operational staff in Slovenia, all of whom contribute to creating higher added value.

Prime Minister Janša also highlighted measures aimed at reducing administrative burdens and simplifying procedures. He said the objective was to speed up public infrastructure projects and enable companies to devote more time to their core activities and investment instead of lengthy administrative procedures and permit applications.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the measures contained in the Act were expected to have effects beyond the business sector. Among the areas he mentioned were lower food prices, shorter waiting times in healthcare, lower rents for young people and changes in long-term care.

The Prime Minister presented the measures in the context of the success stories of IMP Armature and Eltim. According to him, IMP Armature generates approximately 80% of its revenue in Western European and global markets. He highlighted the company's investment in robotisation, the digitalisation of production and the development of its own capacities.

He described Eltim as a company that has grown from seven employees when it was founded in 2006 to around 60 specialists today. Among its projects, he highlighted the renovation of the meteorological station on Kredarica and the demanding logistics involved in carrying out the project.

The Prime Minister congratulated both companies on their anniversaries and emphasised the importance of their employees, knowledge and experience to the companies' success.
